How and why we use cookies on our website

Last updated: 5 November 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, to provide a better browsing experience and to supply information to website owners.

Cookies may be set by the website you are visiting ("first-party cookies") or by third-party services that appear on the page ("third-party cookies"). Cookies can remain on your device for varying lengths of time — "session cookies" are deleted when you close your browser, while "persistent cookies" remain until they expire or you delete them.

2. Cookies we use

We use the following categories of cookies on our website:

Essential cookies

These cookies are strictly necessary for the operation of our website. They enable core functionality such as security, session management and accessibility. You cannot opt out of essential cookies as the website cannot function properly without them.

Cookie name Purpose Duration
session Maintains your session state as you navigate the website Session
remember_token Keeps registered users signed in when they choose "remember me" 14 days
bmCookieConsent (local storage) Remembers your cookie choices so we do not ask again on every page. Stored in your browser's local storage rather than as a cookie, and never sent to our server. Until you clear it or change your choice
Analytics cookies

Set only if you choose "Accept all" or switch on analytics in "Manage preferences". These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information in aggregate. This data helps us improve the website and tailor our content to our visitors' needs.

Cookie name Purpose Duration
_ga Google Analytics — distinguishes unique visitors 2 years
_ga_* Google Analytics — maintains session state 2 years
Marketing cookies

Set only if you choose "Accept all" or switch on marketing in "Manage preferences". We use the Meta Pixel to measure how well our adverts on Facebook and Instagram work (for example, whether a visitor who saw an advert later sent us a trade enquiry) and to show relevant adverts to people who have visited our website.

Cookie name Purpose Duration
_fbp Meta Pixel — identifies browsers to measure advertising and build audiences 3 months
_fbc Meta Pixel — records the advert you clicked to reach our website 3 months

3. How to manage cookies

When you first visit our website, a cookie banner lets you accept all cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or choose which categories to allow. No analytics or marketing cookies are set until you make a choice. You can change your mind at any time using the cookie settings link here or in the footer of every page.

You can also control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View the cookies stored on your device and delete them individually
  • Block third-party cookies
  • Block cookies from particular websites
  • Block all cookies from being set
  • Delete all cookies when you close your browser

Please note that if you choose to block or delete cookies, some features of our website may not function as intended.

4. Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our website are set by third-party services. We use these services to enhance website functionality and to understand how our website is used. The third-party services we use include:

  • Google Analytics: web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. Google Analytics uses cookies to help us analyse how visitors use our website. The information generated by the cookies is transmitted to and stored by Google. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
  • Meta Pixel: advertising measurement service provided by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Information collected by the pixel (such as the pages you visit and the fact that you sent an enquiry) is shared with Meta. See Meta's Privacy Policy. You can also control how Meta uses this information in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
  • jsDelivr: content delivery network used to serve our stylesheets and scripts. It does not set cookies, but like any web server it receives your IP address in order to deliver the files.

We do not control the cookies set by third parties. Please refer to the respective third party's website for more information about their cookies and privacy practices.
